This is really stunning; I've taken similar photos accidentally, but here the flakes are just so poignant and perfectly captured; it's almost like they're glowing!
The flash on your camera is pretty impressive, to get all of those seperate flakes from so far away..
But this picture itself is so impressive; the three large pillars look so majestic, especially because of the angle; it's like they're holding up the sky itself. And the way you've capturd these snowflakes makes them look suspended, or falling extremely slowly; it gives this a mythical feel, like this was am asnion of the gods or something.
And those orange lights in the background look great, they are a little too subtle though; but ornage light in coonection with snow and cold has always been a wonderful contrast IMO.
This image, despite all these redeeming qualities, is a bit messy though; that smudge-type thing on the right side looks like it shouldn't be there, the reflectins on the black glass are a bit distracting.. Also the lighting is a bit hectic, perhaps the shadow at the top should be more prominent..
This is a wondeful shot, and if you cleaned it up just a bit it would be Print-material, IMO! Great job!
wow! thanks alot, not only for the comment, but for the critiquing! ok, i think (THINK!) the reflections you see in the glass are actually more snow flakes. the smudged look, is snow flakes that landed on the lens and melted lol. i'm not sure about the lighting. i usually do my photography and don't do any touching up. mostly because i don't know how to do so via photoshop. part of it is because i just like not messing with them, you know?
anyway, any more suggestions, or help, is always appreciated
thanks a million, again

You're welcome. And yes I know what you mean by not messing with shots, I don't think I'd be that comfortable with it myself; except if my aim was to specifically do a photo manipulation (which I've never done ).
The reflection I was talking about is actually that small red light, next to one of the pillars. But it isn't a biggie, and it actually messes with the romantic/urban look a bit.
ok... (and sorry this took so long.... busy bee am i!) i really wish i knew more about photoshop. but, plain and simple, i don't.
also, i figured out what it is..... i think it's the reflection of the red eye flash..... but i may be wrong.
again..... thanks so much for all you've said

Some people have been asking me about this stuff so I decided to gather all information in one single article on how to make your own portfolio, in a profesional and clean looking way. I hope it's useful, because these steps I myself take.
